During the official multiplayer reveal, Infinity Ward and Activision have shared a ton of new details about the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The devs talked about some of the new and returning features in the multiplayer and also confirmed when exactly can players try out the game, before its release.
In September, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will have several beta tests, both closed and free for everyone. Starting on 12 September 2019, PlayStation 4 players who pre-ordered the game will get access to the exclusive beta, which will run until 13 September 2019. Shortly after that, the beta test will be available to all PlayStation 4 players from 14 to 16 September 2019.
PC and Xbox One players will join the party for the crossplay beta test which also has the early access and free phases. Those who pre-order the game will be able to play the beta from 19 to 20 September 2019 while others will join on 21 September 2019. The beta will officially end on 23 September 2019.
PlayStation 4 exclusive beta:
- Early Access: 12 - 13 September 2019
- Open Beta: 14 - 16 September 2019
Cross-Platform play beta (All platforms):
- Early Access: 19 - 20 September 2019
- Open Beta: 21 - 23 September 2019
As you can see, there are plenty of opportunities to try out the game on both PC and consoles. Also, Infinity Ward may extend the beta even further, which is something that Call of Duty dev teams usually do.
At the moment, there are no details on what kind of content will be available in the beta tests, but we assume that we'll get a couple of maps and multiplayer game modes to try.
