ConcernedApe has teased a screenshot from the upcoming 1.4 update to his popular farming simulator Stardew Valley and it's said to be a big one, bring both the new farm map Four Corners and the separate money option for multiplayer.
In fact, ConcernedApe says that Four Corners is a perfect playground to test drive your newly found and long-awaited financial independence in Stardew Valley's multiplayer.
The current mechanic uses shared finances, which many players found less than ideal, but the solution is incoming.
"If you have an existing multiplayer farm, money will remain shared, but you can go to the Mayor's house to separate (or re-join) the money at any time. If you separate it, the current funds will be split evenly among the players. For new farms you can set the option at start", the dev wrote.
As for the map, Four Corners has a shared cave, shared community centre and the rest, it's just a tad more independent. Apparently, it led to some interesting Stardew Valley gameplay, so we're pretty anxious to give it a go.
Four Corners will, of course, be available in singleplayer too, but unfortunately, ConcernedApe didn't provide a date, so we don't know the exact timing. Stardew Valley's 1.4 update will first launch for PC, while consoles and mobile will follow at a later date.
On the other hand, Concerned Ape is doing a pretty great job with Stardew Valley, as the game is being regularly updated on all platforms. Considering that we're talking about a one person team here, the whole development starts getting some herculean overtones.
Stardew Valley has been a real success story and it's not every day that a single man's labour makes such a splash.
According to the data from 2017, the game exceeded 3.5 million copies sold. However, with mobile versions launching in March 2019 and the Switch proving to be the game's soul-console-mate, this story is far from over.
Of course, you could say that Stardew Valley finally came home, seeing as how it drew inspiration from Nintendo's Harvest Moon.
