On the wings of a successful first season, Giants Software have announced the second esports season of the Farming Simulator League, which will include a hefty €250,000 prize pool, 10 tournaments across Europe and a few big-shot partners.
dIf you've been following Farming Simulator 19's esports aspirations, you'll have noticed that the new esports season brings about a name change as well, having previously been called the Farming Simulator Championship.
Along with the name come some rules changes too, and Giants software wrote that it will no longer be about bale stacking but 3 vs. 3 competitive mode in Farming Simulator 19. Naturally, it will revolve around faming and related challenging activities but we'll have to wait a bit more for more details.
Giants Software wrote that they were testing the waters in 2018 and that the year 2019 takes it to the next level, i.e. "a full-fledged eSports league with 10 tournaments across Europe."
The tournaments will have teams competing for the title of Farming Simulator Champion and a total of €250K in prize money. Out of that sum, €100K is reserved for the winning team of Farming Simulator 19's second esports season.
Farming Simulator 19's developer found themselves a few noteworthy partners, such as Intel and Logitech, to name but a few. Needless to say, their participation had a lot to do with the pretty generous prize pool, even though the game's quite popular on its own.
Giants Software's CEO and esports division manager Christian Ammann said, "Competitive farming is something people enjoy for years now, but it hasn’t been done in eSports so far. We have lots of eSports enthusiasts in our company who can’t wait to show the world that farming can indeed be fun and competitive at the same time."

Other than that, the company didn't go much into detail, claiming that fans should expect more detailed information at a later date. What they did promise is that they'll be seeking for the "right mix of real farming and fun to play game elements".
