Pokemon Go enthusiasts may hype away, but with an air of reservation, as Niantic will apparently add an event containing Gen 4 evolution Pokemon to the game. This is leaked and still unofficial, in spite of the leakers good track record.
According to the leak on reddit, an event is supposed to occur next week bringing Gen 4 evolutions, with specific mention of Magmortar, Electrivire and Rhyperior. Apparently these three will be the first wave of Gen 4, like it happened with babies in Gen 2 and Halloween in Gen 3.
The leaker, going under the alias HiddenLeaker on reddit, claims that new evolution items such as elemental stones are also on the way. This supposed event will award double experience for evolving and spinning pokestops and increase the spawn rate of evolved pokemon.
Now, this next feature is what gives these claims some credibility, along with the leaks that occurred a year ago that were later proven to be correct. HiddenLeaker mentions increased pokemon storage, going up to 2.000, which is a change that Niantic previously announced so it is likely they will deploy it during the event.
The supposed leaks continue with Gen 3 evolutions being released to the wild, with the exception of Milotic, new quests that award evolution items, raids with previous evolution pokemon and new shop boxes with lucky eggs and raid passes.
All of this will apparently not just drop out of the blue as a new update is supposed to happen before the event according to HiddenLeaker. These changes sound rather sweet, but as it was pointed out on reddit, they sound too good to be true. It wouldn't be too much of a surprise though as Niantic have already announced ways to lower the grind via trading pokemon.
Currently no one knows when Celebi might pop up, with HiddenLeaker theorising that it might be an ultra reward, while another commenter believes it will make an appearance when Raikou starts.
