Microsoft Gaming and Xbox executives have revealed Xbox new strategy for game releasees moving forward, confirming that four Xbox exlcusives will be coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5.
Additionally, they also said that Xbox's fundamental exclusives strategy won't change so players can look forward to more Xbox exclusives and many of these will be coming this year.
To be more precise, Head of Xbox Game Studios Matt Booty confirmed that Xbox will have more than ten major releases in 2024, namedropping Avowed, Hellblade 2 and more games.
If you're excited about Xbox's lineup, here is the list of all games that are pretty much confirmed to be launching later this year.
Ten games that Xbox plan to release in 2024:
- Hellblade 2 (May 21)
- Avowed (Autumn)
- Ara: History Untold (Autumn)
- Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
- Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
- Towerborne
- Call of Duty Black Ops Gulf War
- Starfield: Shattered Space (expansion)
- Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred (expansion)
- Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road (expansion)
Every game on this list except Call of Duty is confirmed to be coming this year but Matt Booty has also teased other games in development that Xbox have not announced yet. He said they will talk more about that at the June Xbox Games Showcase.
Players speculated that the rumoured Gears Collection and Age of Mythology Remake could be set to launch in 2024 but none of that is confirmed by Xbox yet. Compulsion Games' South of Midnight is another action adventure that is on the fans' lips when discussing this years releases.
Obviously, there is always a chance that some games get delayed to 2025, namely Avowed, which looks like it could use some extra time in the oven but even if that happens, Xbox will havely plently of other titles in the pipeline to fill that spot.
All in all, if Xbox deliver all these games, then it's safe to say that 2024 could be one of the greatest years ever for Game Pass subsrcibers and other Xbox and PC players.
