According to early previews, Xbox Series X is completely silent even when playing demanding games but on the other hand, it can get really hot, which is not odd given the GPU and CPU power.
The next-gen consoles from both Microsoft and Sony are just around the corner, therefore we are starting to get more and more previews of Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in the recent days. Tech YouTubers and other influencers who got their hands on Xbox Series X are quite impressed by the console, especially its super-fast loading times and Quick Resume feature, which allows you to jump between games almost instantly.
On top of this, it seems that the console makes zero noise which is always good but some people who get their hands on the console for previews, report that Xbox Series X can get a bit hot. According to French tech channel LeStream the console gives off "violent" heat. Here's the full quote as translated by ResetEra member SoulsHunt :
"I don't know if we can talk about this but, we have the Series X here and the Series X is hot, it is hot. It makes 0 noise but on the other hand, it gives off heat, it's violent. You can warm up thanks to the Series X, clearly. From a sound point of view, it's good but from a heat point of view, it's something."
Now, as always with unconfirmed reports, take this one with a dose of scepticism especially since it's coming from French channel and we can't really verify the quality of translation. These things can get lost in translation quite often.
That being said, this is not the first time that we're hearing about the Xbox Series X heat. Jeff Bakalar recently also mentioned that his preview console got quite hot during testing.
Guess, we'll have to wait for independent reviews from tech channels to see if this is indeed the case and who exactly it affects the performance.
