Genshin Impact players want to cancel one of the upcoming characters, Eula, due to her ancestors' involvement with controversial topics such as slavery.
Genshin Impact has taken the gaming industry by storm and the player base keeps growing by each day. The release of a new character is probably one of the most exciting events in the game for the majority of the community.
However, players are often unhappy with many of its aspects, such as account security, the Resin system, or the lack of content. A couple of weeks ago fans have taken it to another level on Twitter where they were sharing numerous controversial opinions asking players to completely boycott the game.
A couple of days ago a similar thing happened with one of the upcoming characters Eula with many fans asking for her cancelation . According to the majority of them, the main reason for their demands is the fact that she's an ancestor of the infamous Lawrence clan which was closely tied with slavery, according to the game's lore.
The Lawrence clan is hated, and consequently, “Eula has been viewed with contempt by the citizens of Mondstadt since birth.” The Lawrence Clan has a history of slavery in the game’s lore, as it bought Vennessa’s clan, who were slaves. The lore also states that Eula has been viewed as a potential danger by the citizens of Mondstadt since birth.
Eula has been involved in many controversies since her first introduction through waves of leaks which resulted in many leakers' Twitter accounts getting disabled. Also, there weren't any traces of her existence before her first appearance which led many fans to believe that she was rushed like a filler character by miHoYo.
