West of Dead, a roguelike in the style of Ghost Rider in the Wild West, has officially been released on various stores on PC. Xbox One edition is slightly late but will likely have been released by the time you read this.
Raw Fury announced that West of Dead has been released on Steam, GOG and Humble Bundle. The game costs $19.99 / €19.99 on all the store but the Deluxe Edition is available with 15 per cent knocked off the regular price. It includes the soundtrack and The Crow DLC.
Contents of the DLC are not exactly game-changing but can spice up your journey through the purgatory as William Mason keeps cleansing it, so to speak. The Battlefield level is one of the additions that come with it. Described as dilapidated, riven with rot and decay and as "the epitome of all war".
Players wading through this level will have the opportunity to face off with a new enemy, The Captain, who is apparently maddened by his lust for war. Since he uses both a cannon and a sabre, he will be tough in both close quarters and long-range but the DLC will likely make it worth the trouble due to the new weapon, The Mortar, which can damage enemies in cover.
Xbox One version has June 18 release date slapped onto it so it's possible the game will be available on the console by the time you are reading this.
In the case of the three PC stores that sell West of Dead, it is worth mentioning that while West of Dead doesn't have any inherent DRM, GOG is usually the safe bet if you are planning to share the library with someone since it can be accessed by more than one person at the same time.
