Ubisoft are set to release Assassin's Creed 3 remaster, which was a move no fan saw as logical apparently, as they cried for a Black Flag remaster. The company has detailed the improvements that the remaster will entail, but at a price.
This particular remaster's price will be Assassin's Creed: Odyssey Gold edition, as Ubisoft didn't specify whether the game will be sold separately. As it stands now, Assassin's Creed 3 is simply tied to the Season Pass part of the latest title in the franchise, so those who didn't purchase the Gold edition can get the game sort of separately.
Anyway, those who feel like adventuring with Connor once again will be able to do so with several improvements in March 2019. Probably the most notable one and the reason why remasters happen is the graphics changes, which means the resolution will be upscaled so players on PC, PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X will be able to enjoy it in 4K, while those with the regular versions of PS4 and Xbone will get to play it in 1080p.
Textures and resolution aren't the only parts that saw improvements though, as new character models will be used as well. Assassin's Creed 3 remaster will feature a new lighting rendering system and will have more dense crowds, environments and visual effects. The remaster pretty much entails the stuff Ubisoft couldn't put into the game six years ago due to technological restrictions.
Other than graphics, Ubisoft have apparently mechanics in line with user feedback. They didn't go into specifics though, only stating that several features were revamped or tweaked. Sadly, we can't imagine Ubisoft managed to make Connor a more interesting character though.
Back to the topic of the remaster being tied to Assassin's Creed: Odyssey Season Pass, this is not the first time Ubisoft pulled such a marketing stunt. A similar thing happened with Far Cry 3 Classic, which was exclusively available in a bundle with Far Cry 5 but it eventually went on to be sold separately. If this is an indication of Ubisoft's policies, we can also expect Assassin's Creed 3 to become available on its own at some point in the future.
