As news broke that Assassin's Creed 3 Remaster is coming as a free gift for season pass holders in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, the former's director Alex Hutchinson shared a lengthy list of changes he'd make if he could go back in time.

For his first change, Hutchinson said that he'd ease up on the fire damage in the final mission, which made it "too hard for no real reason". He thinks this left a bad taste in players' mouths ahead of the final sequence.

Hutchinson would force Assassin's Creed 3's Temple missions in the present day as they trigger, instead of letting them stack up, since he thinks it ruins the pacing. He also thinks Homestead side missions should've been obligatory and come earlier, since "they feature the charming, fun and more human version of Connor that is not as obvious if you only play the main missions".

Speaking of Connor, Hutchinson thinks that Haytham's intro should've been broken up in chunks and peppered throughout the game, so as to make Connor's part come sooner. It's not that he thinks it's bad, since "the shock reveal of another playable character was great, but the start was too slow.

Obviously a fan of Assassin's Creed naval warfare, Hutchinson thinks that his game should've had more naval encounters. "Again, my preference for letting players engage with the content at their own pace doesn't work as well in a blockbuster", he added.

Hutchinson seems to be a big fan of Assassin's Creed 3's scene of the homesteader chopping up a pig and he'd love for everyone who bought the game to see it. I'm not really sure he'd want to thought, what with the masses being very sensitive to nutritional choices of this sort.

The man also highlighted that Assassin's Creed 3 let people draw "rude" things in the snow, "well before it was fashionable or technically advisable." I'm actually afraid to ask why it was not technically advisable.

Of course, Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered will still come unchanged from the original version but it is food for thought at least. You can find Hutchinson's tweet .
