Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is real and it's coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on January 21,2021, Ubisoft officially confirmed at today's event.
After several months of leaks and rumours, Ubisoft have officially announced Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake at today's Ubisoft Forward event.
The announcement does not come as a surprise since we already had some pretty solid reports, confirming the existence of the game, which will be coming to current-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well as PC.
Those who plan to upgrade to Xbox Series X and PS5 will be happy to hear that Prince of Persia Remake will be playable on both consoles via backwards compatibility. The release date is currently set for January 21, 2021.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been developed by Ubisoft Mumbai and Ubisoft Pune, who worked on the game for past two years.
The devs used Assassin's Creed engine Anvil with new assets, camera and reworked controls for the combat system.
It's safe to say that this sounds good on paper but it seems that the reveal trailer, which you can watch above did not impress hardcore Prince of Persia fans. The like/dislike ratio does not look good but let's not jump to any conclusions before we actually see some gameplay and ultimately play the game in January.
