Ubisoft confirm Assassin's Creed Shadows is much shorter than Assassins Creed Valhalla
Assassin's Creed Shadows can be beaten in 30-40 hours, say Ubisoft

Key Points from the Article

  • Assassin's Creed Shadows players can complete the main story in 30-40 hours, depending on their playstyle.
  • Completing the main story and side activities can take up to 80 hours.
  • Ubisoft did not provide an estimate for completing everything in the game, but it is expected to be over 100 hours.

Assassin's Creed Shadows story will be around 30 to 40 hours long, which makes it shorter than previous game Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

Assassin's Creed Shadows players will be able to complete the game in 30 to 40 hours, Ubisoft confirmed recently. That's only for the main story and it will depend on how you play. If you're one of those players who skip cutscenes and dialogues, then it will be even shorter.

For players who like to do a lot of side activities between the main story quests, Ubisoft say such playthrough can get closer to 80 hours, again, depending on how fast you are in doing these side quests.

Ubisoft didn't say how much time players will need to invest to complete everything Assassin's Creed Shadows has to offer but my bet would be on 100+ hours. Modern Assassin's Creed games usually come with a lot of those question marks on the map so it will take plenty of hours to clear them all up.

I do have to say that I appreciate that Ubisoft scaled down the story in Assassin's Creed Shadows since Assassin's Creed Valhalla was painfully long to the point I couldn't force myself to finish the game.

Assassin's Creed Shadows is set in a vast open world so it's safe to say that you'll need around 100 hours to explore everything

To add to that, I'm starting to appreciate shorter but more focused games like Avowed, which doesn't have a massive open world or a story that runs 30+ hours.

Hopefully, Ubisoft will continue in the right direction in terms of game length with the Assassin's Creed franchise.
