So, Travis Scott is not just another celebrity that doesn't have to pay for his gadgets, he's officially doing some serious marketing work for Sony and the PlayStation brand, as a strategic creative partner.
Remember when Travis Scott posted the photo of the DualSense controller sitting in his lap? Well, it looks like that flexing wasn’t without reason.
The 29-year-old rapper, singer, songwriter and producer from Houston has already established himself in the gaming world, through a 15-minute concert held in Fortnite , which was virtually attended by more than 10 million people. Yes, that would require a very large hall in the real world.
Today, Travis Scott is again a name that is being linked with the PlayStation brand in the media, and this time he is officially introduced by Sony, as a new member of the PlayStation family, no more and no less.
In the post on the official blog , Sony have written the next lines:
"Today, we’re excited to announce Travis Scott has joined the PlayStation family as a strategic creative partner. We heard Travis is a huge PlayStation fan, so we started a conversation with him that led to this unique partnership. Through our mutual passion for gaming and creativity, we plan on collaborating with Travis and his Cactus Jack brand to produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans. "
They further stated that Travis’ deep knowledge and fond memories about PlayStation as a brand and games will inspire his work with Sony from start to finish. They praised him some more as an amazing creator, which he is, and that they strive to work with the best creative minds inside and outside of the industry to continue to surprise the world in a way that only PlayStation can.
Well, we like Travis Scott, we like PlayStation. It's a win-win situation for us. The Sicko Mode author himself wanted to share a few words on this special occasion:
"I’m really looking forward to being able to showcase everything that Cactus Jack has worked on with Sony and the PlayStation team. Most importantly I’m excited to see how the PlayStation fans and family respond, and I look forward to running some games with everybody very soon!"
