Crystal Dynamics, the studio behind Tomb Raider and Marvel's Avengers have established a brand new development studio, Crystal Southwest, in Austin, Texas.
Crystal Dynamics are expanding. The developer of the critically acclaimed Tomb Raider franchise and the not so well received looter shooter Marvel's Avengers have announced they are opening a brand new studio named Crystal Southwest.
The studio will be set in Austin, Texas and according to the announcement, it will be a "major part of all current and future Crystal Dynamics titles". Check out the full announcement below:
"We're excited to announce our new development studio in Austin, Texas. Crystal Southwest will be a major part of all current and future Crystal Dynamics titles. Leading Crystal Southwest is Dallas Dickinson, an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience developing AAA games. The initial team in Austin, made up of Crystal Dynamics veterans is already hard at work."

At the moment, there are no additional details about Crystal Southwest's first project. We can only guess that the team are indeed working on something exciting but for now, the details are under the wraps. Perhaps we'll hear more in the near future as the team start to shape their vision for the game.
The team are also on a hiring spree for various positions but we could not find any juicy details about the new game in these job listings.
