After a long wait, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt upgrade is finally coming to current-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as well as PC on December 14, 2022.
CD Projekt Red announced the release today along with the confirmation that the first gameplay reveal and more details are coming next week. The publisher will live stream the game on their official Twitch channel.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen upgrade will be free of charge for all owners of the original game.
According to CD Projekt Red's press release, some of the improvements and new features include ray tracing support, faster loading times on consoles and a variety of mods integrated in the game. We already know that one of the mods the devs will be using is Halk Hogan's textures mod, which is widely popular among the community.
Other than that, CD Projekt Red promise dozen of visual, performance and technical enhancements over the original. Sounds like we're in for a treat!
In addition to the visual enhancements, The Witcher 3 next-gen update will also add some new content such as items inspired by Netflix's The Witcher show.
