The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) has rolled out the nominees for 24th Annual DICE Awards, and you could say there were no surprises here.
Sony have traditionally snatched quite a few nominations, and as you could've read in the title - two of them were the games that received the most nominations.
As we've come to expect in awards shows during 2020, The Last of Us Part 2 has received 11 nominations. They are nominated for outstanding achievements in animation, art direction, two nominations for a character, audio design, story, technical achievement, adventure game of the year, game design, game direction, and game of the year.
Ghost of Tsushima isn't far behind, with 10 nominations for at direction, original music composition, audio design, story, technical achievement, adventure game of the year, online game of the year, game design, game direction and game of the year.
Supergiant Games' hit indie game Hades continues to run neck and neck with Sony, and this time they picked up eight nominations for art direction, character, story, action game of the year, indie game of the year, game design, game direction, and game of the year.
Valve's return to Half-Life with Half-Life: Alyx earned them five nominations, joining the 5-nominee club that also features Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ori and the Will of the Wists.
Academy members have begun general voting and the winners will be unveiled at the DICE Awards ceremony on April 8, 2021. The ceremony will, of course, be happening virtually so everyone's welcome to tune in.
