Nintendo's E3 presentation of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate required 25 minutes for a reason, since the new smash brawler comes with every character that has ever graced any of the games in the franchise, including some newcomers to the ring.
Now I don't care what you play and in what period you played it, you'll eventually find your flavour in Nintendo and Bandai Namco's mashup of universes. Seriously, Metal Gear Solid, Pokemon, Metroid, Sonic, Mega Man, Street Fighter, Xenoblade and we're nowhere near done.
One of the highlights is Metroid's Ridley, who's been on the receiving stick of many an axe, due to being oversized and bulky. Nevertheless, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate community's fanatical support was enough to bring him back. Nintendo abides.
Even Zelda, the magic savvy princess that spends most of her life piggybacking off of Link's hard work, has decided to lift her lazy behind and revisit the franchise. Speaking of Link, you'll be choosing from a few of them, including versions of the green clad hero from Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time.
Speaking of behinds, the first bit of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate controversy is related to a behind of one of the roster members, with many a Metal Gear Solid fan complaining about the quality of Snake's butt.
Fans feel Super Smash Bros. Ultimate presents it in a very bad light, both figuratively and literally, making it seem as if the man never had a glorious spandex-enhanced behind to begin with. Dare I say, anyone who's ever played MGS series knows and loves that butt.
There are some clever twists as well, one of which will make Street Fighter players feel right at home. When fighting one on one, Ryu follows his parent game's mechanic in that he turns towards the opponent after jump-overs. Seasoned SF veteran in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? Scary I know.
