Stellar Blade is an action-adventure game developed by Shift Up and published by Sony Entertainment. The game was exclusively released for the PlayStation 5 in April 2024.
Since its worldwide launch, Stellar Blade has garnered a lot of attention for its unique gameplay design. Following its success, Sony and Shift Up are officially releasing a free update for Stellar Blade on May 24, 2024. The new update introduces a boss challenge mode, new outfits, and more content to the game.
Stellar Blade's latest Boss Challenge Mode explained
The new Boss Challenge pits players against the 19 bosses from the base game. The progression in the Boss Challenge requires battle data from the bosses players have previously defeated.
The bosses can be fought on hard difficulty only after finishing the game. To start a boss challenge, players can either load up and use their own gear from the base game or choose from one of several presets being added with the update.
The new minimum preset will put players through a gruelling challenge. On the other hand, the new maximum preset will feature a buffed-up version of all unlocked skills and stats, which can be used for a more relaxing experience.
After the challenge is over, the player battle data is automatically analysed, and metrics like battle time, number of perfect parries and dodges, consumable usage, and more are displayed.
After defeating all bosses in the Boss Challenge on the Normal difficulty setting or higher, players will get to earn the Neurolink Suit for Eve.
Aside from the new boss challenge mode, players are also getting two new suits for Eve. The White Kunoichi and Black Kunoichi nanosuits will be available for free with the new update on May 24. Furthermore, the update also adds a compass to the HUD and an automatic lock feature when switching from ranged to normal attacks.
