Steam released its lists revealing the platform's best selling games for both VR and standard gaming, top new releases and top graduates from early access. As per usual, the exact revenues are not revealed and best sellers are grouped in tiers
There are four existing tiers based on these games' revenues: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Let's start with the games from the highest ranking bracket - Platinum:
- PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
- The Witcher 3.
- H1Z1.
- Divinity: Original Sin 2.
- Rainbow Six Siege.
- Dota 2.
- Ark: Survival Evolved.
- Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
- Grand Theft Auto V.
- Rocket League.
- Warframe.
- Ghost Recon Wildlands.
The highlight here would definitely be Witcher 3's ability to retain sky high sales and stay in the Platinum bracket, two years after it was released. This feat is even more impressive considering the fact this is the only game in Platinum that has no multiplayer component. GG CD Projekt Red.
Gold bracket is constructed by a notably higher number of RPG and adventure games as opposed to Platinum that favoured multiplayer experiences.

Silver is somewhat surprising, considering the huge popularity and review gap between Path of Exile and titles such as Black Desert Online or Resident Evil 7. Then again, Path of Exile is a 2013 title and it is good to see this kind of long term commitment from developers that resulted in the game being one of the most sold on Steam during the fourth year since its release. The Silver bracket is as follows:
- Rust
- Total War: Warhammer II
- Dead by Daylight
- Team Fortress 2
- Path of Exile
- Final Fantasy XIV
- War Thunder
- Resident Evil 7
- Planet Coaster
- Sniper Elite 4
- Conan Exiles
- Euro Truck Simulator
- XCOM 2
- Black Desert Online
- Cities Skylines
- Cuphead
Bronze bracket is the longest of the four and features a paradox similar to Silver. Well received games such as DOOM, Wolfenstein 2 and Dishonored 2 found themselves in the same room as the franchise wrecking Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 3.
