Eric "ConcernedApe" Barrone recently announced Stardew Valley patch 1.5 would bring a new version of multiplayer for his hit game.

Multiplayer was already added in Stardew Valley but some would prefer to play it from the comfort of the couch and soon they will be able to. Splitscreen co-op will arrive with Stardew Valley patch 1.5, according to the big man himself, ConcernedApe.

You can preview how it will look like on the image above or check the announcement tweet below for a higher resolution. All things considered, this preview looks good even on smaller monitors, let alone bigger screens utilised by consoles.

To make it even better, Barrone confirmed that split-screen would arrive to PC and all consoles at the same time. Stardew Valley is available on mobile devices as well but it's easy to see how going for this type of co-op on them would be a bit weird and counterproductive.

The number of simultaneous split-screen players available on PC will be up to four but the number will be limited to two on some other platforms. Although Barrone didn't specify which platform(s) these are, it's highly possible PS Vita and Switch are the platforms in question due to their small screen sizes.

Then again, Switch can be hooked up to a TV so take this speculation with a grain of salt.
