Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is selling like hotcakes and is well on its way to becoming one of, if not the best selling Star Wars game ever. It is already the fastest-selling one in the first weeks, beating even the likes of Battlefront on PC.
Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order is an EA game that's making a killing and it doesn't even herd people into paying pens. This is clearly the dankest timeline and Respawn Entertainment are the ones responsible as they apparently had enough pull in the parent company to be allowed to create an RPG that the players love and that doesn't fleece them.
Anyway, Jedi Fallen Order seems to have become the epitome of "per aspera ad astra" since E3 2018 when the game was awkwardly announced by EA, via Vince Zampella, who didn't even get to do the announcement on stage .
It has now become a major success, according to the PR statement on Business Wire . Namely, it took Jedi Fallen Order two weeks to become EA's fastest-selling digital launch for any Star Wars game, ever.
The other record Jedi Fallen Order broke is related to Star Wars titles on PC. It's derivative from the fastest-selling digital launch but also appears to include the physical sales on the platform. According to the statement, no other EA Star Wars game sold better in the initial launch window.
While there is no confirmation whether it's on course to earn more than Battlefront or Battlefront II, it is highly satisfying to see a bona fide singleplayer game without exploitative monetisation doing better than the loot box-driven fiasco that galvanised governments into pushing for more regulations in gaming.
