Star Wars: Battlefront 2's development team has announced the game's final update ahead of Dice's shift to the next instalment in the Battlefield franchise.
Dice reminded that Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has received 25 free content updates thus far, having touched on all the cinematic releases.
The next content update is called The Battle on Scarif, and it returns to the tropical battlefronts in the vein of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
As of 29 April, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 players will see the Age of Rebellion in Supremacy and Instant Action. Hoth, Tatooine, Yavin 4 and the gorgeous tropical world of Scarif will all be making the cut, and you can check out each one in the trailer below.
"Scarif and Crait are both joining the Heroes and Villains game modes and Co-Op will see the addition of the MC85 Star Cruiser, First Order Star Destroyer, and Scarif", they wrote.
Note that due to narrative limitations, the battles in Age of Rebellion Supremacy will be fought exclusively throughout the ground phase. To compensate, Dice will enable the ability to pilot starfighters on select Age of Rebellion Supremacy locations.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2's Co-Op experience will be brought to solo play as well. Players will be able to fight the AI on all Co-Op enabled locations, an option that will be included in Instant Action.
"Looking beyond April, we’re transitioning to a phase where the servers, in-game challenges, recurring events such as Double XP and more, and game support will carry this broad and rich Star Wars gaming experience into the future. This means that we’re moving away from delivering regular content updates", they wrote.
