Spawn could get a surprise guest appearance in MK11

Todd McFarlane, the creator of comic book character Spawn believes that Spawn will be included in the roster for the upcoming fighting game Mortal Kombat 11. McFarlane was doing Reddit AMA and answered that Spawn is on his way to MK.

Just one week after The Games Awards where we got the official announcement for Mortal Kombat 11, the information about the game's character roster started to surface. One of the guest appearances in the upcoming fighting game will be the comic book antihero Spawn. This information is coming directly from the creator of Spawn - Todd McFarlane.

During his Reddit AMA, McFarlane answered the question about Spawn's appearance in new Mortal Kombat game. "I believe he's on his way..." Mcfarlane simply responded. Of course, this is far from the official confirmation but it is coming from Spawn's creator and he's probably the ideal person to answer that question.

Spawn's guest appearance in Mortal Kombat 11 wouldn't be that surprising since he already has a history of appearing in video game industry. In 2011, he was featured in ScrewAttack's Death Battle series where he fought and defeated Kratos from God of War. He also had a guest appearance in Soulcalibur 2 and Soulcalibur 2 HD remaster.

Spawn was also rumoured as a character for Mortal Kombat XL but the rumours never materialised. It would be interesting to see him in a Mortal Kombat game though given his unique powers.

One of his abilities is to shapeshift in anything he wants and he can even stop the time, resurrect the dead and control the nature. That's a lot of possibilities for his potential fighting styles if NetherRealm is still including them in Mortal Kombat 11.

Along with the news about Spawn's guest appearance, we also have some info about the Mortal Kombat 11's post-launch content. According to Gamestop Italy, the game will feature six Battle passes and six DLC characters which sounds like a seasonal pass system which can be seen in Fortnite and other multiplayer games.

Additionally, those who pre-order the game will get Shao Khan and Beta access but you know our thoughts on this and we strongly advise you to wait until we have a proper look at the game and its content.
