What started out as rumour of Sony's June event is fast becoming a reality as the company's Corporate Strategy meeting included a heads-up for an upcoming unveiling of PS5 titles.
As reported by Niko analyst Daniel Ahmad, Sony's Corporate Strategy meeting featured a lot of information they've gone over before, but there were a few nuggets of valuable information.
One of those is the plan to show a "compelling lineup of [PlayStation 5] titles soon", which is definitely good news for Sony fans and enthusiasts alike.
Moreover, what is now an official confirmation fits in with the earlier rumours of Sony's PlayStation 5 games reveal, which several sources said is scheduled for June .
VentureBeat initially stated the reveal is happening on June 4, 2020, but they've since agreed with others, who said the final date is by no means set in stone. Nevertheless, they maintain that it will be in early-June, and that the exact date is the only thing that's being shifted around.
The earlier round of analyst predictions indeed factored in the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, insisting that it's being a factor in both Sony's and Microsoft's cases. Basically, the micro-plans may change on a day's notice, but it's safe to assume that we'll be treated to PS5 games before June is done.
Sony's Corporate Strategy meeting once again reaffirmed the company's intention to launch PS5 this holiday. It also mentioned improved graphics quality, game speed improvements that are down to SSD, revolutionised controller experience, custom 3D audio processing unit and other already known info.
Perhaps the best part for end-users is that Sony and Microsoft are taking turns showing off hardware and software, so there's never a dull moment in the next instalment of console wars.
