As promised back in July, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is getting a Game of the Year Edition, prompting FromSoftware to release a trailer and announce a free update.
"Explore late 1500s Sengoku Japan, a brutal period of constant life and death conflict, as you come face-to-face with larger than life foes in a dark and twisted world. Unleash an arsenal of deadly prosthetic tools and powerful ninja abilities while you blend stealth, vertical traversal, and visceral head-to-head combat in a bloody confrontation", the trailer description reads.
Now, you had to be living under a Metacriticless rock not to have been made aware of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's review scores, so the Game of the Year edition was definitely in order. It launches on October 28 or 29, 2020, depending on where you are but that's not everything.
Namely, FromSoftware are also releasing a free update for all Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice owners, with new boss challenge modes, player recordings and some fresh cosmetics to boot.
Reflection of Strength/Gauntlet of Strength will let you rematch previously defeated bosses in single and consecutive battles. Next up is Change Form, meaning you can mess around with Wolf's appearance.
There are three new forms to spruce up your appearance, including Old Ashina Shinobi and Tengu. Note that the new forms are unlocked by meeting certain conditions.
Last but not least is Remnants, which is basically a clip-sharing feature. The recordings can be up to 30 seconds long and can be accompanied by text messages. This should come in handy come strategy-sharing time, doubly so after considering the game's difficulty.
The update is free, of course, so everyone gets to enjoy it, and if you're interested in learning more about it, you can learn more on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice's website .
