Niantic announced a Pokemon Go event that will happen in Philadelphia, USA in May 2020. The Safari Zone will be available for several days but will require tickets and have an optional but paid pass.
Pokemon Go Safari Zone in Philadelphia will start on Friday, 8 May 2020 and wrap up on the following Sunday. It will be happening in Fairmount Park where the trainers will have increased chances to encounter Voltorb, Alolan Sandshrew, Unown P, Bronzor, Rufflet and a few other Pokemon.
The theme seems to be stars and stripes, or at least their colours as Niantic pointed out that these creatures' colours will mostly be red, white and blue. On the other hand, they will not overdo it with American themes apparently as Mr. Mime will be available for the duration of the event, whic his not a common occurrence since he is usually encountered in Europe only.
Tickets are now live and will be sold on the first come, first serve basis. General admission tickets are $12 while those who want early access can get it at an increased price - $18. They will be able to access the event early and receive two additional hours of gameplay.
The event will be accompanied by City Explorer Pass that will cost $8, plus taxes and fees. It can only be purchased alongside Safari Zone tickets and cannot be purchased after a ticket order is complete.
City Explorer Pass will unlock the assigned raids, eggs will hatch faster in Philadelphia and will have a few other bonuses. You can check out the details on the raids, hatch distance, exclusive research tasks and the rest of the bonuses on the official Pokemon Go website .
