PlayStation 5 exclusive from Housemarque will be a well-optimised title if the latest rumours are legit. Apparently, the game runs at 4K 60 FPS with ray tracing enabled.

Returnal is one of the most anticipated PlayStation 5 exclusives this year and the wait is almost over since the release date is coming in less than two weeks now. And as we wait to finally dive into the game's mesmerising and unique worlds, today we have some technical information regarding the games' performance on PlayStation 5, that will certainly make many players happy.

According to the latest rumours, the game will run at 4K 60 FPS with ray tracing effects enabled. This has been teased in the latest video by PlayStation Portugal. Check out the screenshots below, courtesy of Twitter user Heisenreborn:

And while this certainly sounds great, we must say that Housemarque are yet to officially announce such details so a dose of scepticism is required, just like with any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed report.

We would say that 4K 60 FPS seems doable since most games that released on next-gen consoles usually offer 60 FPS modes with dynamic resolution. As for ray tracing, well, it will be interesting to see if the game indeed has a mode that offers the holy trinity of gaming - 4K, 60 FPS and ray tracing enabled.
