Insomniac teased the new Ratchet & Clank game where the duo will have to keep the reality together as they rift through various dimensions. One of them even has a female version of Ratchet.

Ratchet and Clank will be back for new adventures on PlayStation 5 as they venture through many different realities. At the risk of repeating ourselves, some are wildly different.

The high octane trailer shows the heroes going through various dimensions on the fly, although this trailer is somewhat cinematic in nature. Gameplay is shown in another video, also embedded below, and it is a bit tamer. Dimension shifting is briefly shown in action but the player quickly returns to the same reality, probably in order not to reveal too much too soon.

However, the cinematic one did reveal a bit more. The protagonists have been jumping between oddball dimensions and the switching is as wild as going from the regular universe to a cyberpunk one and moving to a pirate ship immediately after.

While that sounds colourful, the real cherry on the cake came at the end of the trailer with what appears to be a female version of Ratchet. Therefore, he is technically not the last lombax but thinking too much about inter-dimensional travel tends to leave one with a headache.

According to Insomniac, the game has been built from the ground up for PlayStation 5 so the insane dimension jumping now makes more sense, given the capabilities of the now-famous SSD that allows quick transitions and extremely quick environment loading.

Unfortunately, neither trailer hinted at when we should expect the game to land on the next-gen console.
