There is no indication yet of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds slowing down. The battle royale shooter has now passed the 1,5 million concurrent player record on Steam and if the snowball keeps rolling it might become impossible to melt.
There has been decent amount of controversy weighing down PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds recently, but since there is no such thing as bad publicity the player numbers have kept steadily increasing.
PUBG has now made it past the 1,5 million peak concurrent player mark and is closing in on 13 million copies sold if SteamSpy is to be trusted. Numbers provided by SteamSpy tend to lag behind actual figures, but unless several million people decide to refund at the same time that copies sold number may be considerably higher by now.
Bluehole have clarified on their issue with Epic's Fortnite Battle Royale in the meantime, saying that they had more of a problem with Epic doing the copying since the two companies already entangled by way of the Unreal engine.
Brendan PlayerUnknown Greene has recently hosted a Reddit AMA , and a decent number of questions were related to the game's performance, so maybe instead of the current scuffle Bluehole and Epic could sit down and figure out how to get their game and engine to run on a more satisfactory level.
