With the release of the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro on November 7th, early glimpses into the console have begun to leak out. Consumers in countries such as Brazil have already begun to receive units, leading to rumors that the PS5 Pro's official specs have begun to unofficially leak out.
A safety guide post to Reddit early confirms the PS5 Pro will indeed boast 16.7 teraflops of GPU power and a 390-watt power supply, in addition to the most notable upgrade: an additional 2 GB of DDR5 RAM.
This will be complemented with new RAM, adding an additional 16 GB of GDDR6 for further operating system and process support. This is said to clearly eclipse the base PS5 and its 512 MB of DDR4 RAM in its SSD cache.
It goes without saying that such upgrades will surely help the PS5 Pro manage higher-quality graphics and processing needs, thus rendering the console more responsive and powerful overall.
It was also revealed that the PS5 Pro will let players take screenshots in 8K resolution, despite games-like Gran Turismo 7-already offering gameplay in 8K.
This is one of those future-proofing features that allow fans to freeze their moments in the game with crystal clear clarity-a godsend for photo mode enthusiasts and budding content creators alike.
With high-demand titles such as Marvel's Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Dragon's Dogma 2 already optimized for the new capabilities of the PS5 Pro, full gaming previews and console teardowns will, no doubt, be rather more revealing in the days that follow.
At a attractive price of $699.99, Sony's PS5 Pro is positioned for some serious earthquakes in the high-performance gaming world.
