PS Plus June 2019 lineup will likely be quite attractive as it features Borderlands: The Handsome Collection and Sonic Mania. This is actually the first time the service contained more than two games ever since legacy support was cut.
PS Plus may finally draw some positive feedback ever since the support was cut for PS Vita and PlayStation 3. The new format meant there would be just two games each month but Gearbox Software semi-unwittingly changed that rule.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is basically two games in one - Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, meaning PS Plus subscribers will get three games with the service in June 2019. The Handsome Collection also includes all the DLC that was released for both of the games, which is quite a long list.
Considering that players get both games at the same time, it could be worth noting they should play The Pre-Sequel first if they want to experience the story in chronological order, even though Borderlands 2 came out first. Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel has four playable characters - Claptrap, Nisha, Athena and Wilhelm, all of whom the players will interact with later on, in Borderlands 2 so it could be nice to know their background before going head to head with some of them.
The Handsome Collection features enhanced local multiplayer and couch co-op could be a good way to experience the looter shooter. Veteran players will be relieved to hear that they can import PlayStation 3 save data and pick up where they left off once they boot the game on PS4.
Those who are not really interested in high octane shooters with tons of loot may still find their fill in the June lineup as it features Sonic Mania.
Sonic Mania is a throwback to the good old days with graphics to match. Many fans have described this as SEGA understanding what the players wanted and releasing something even better. It is not a regular platformer though so you better have a good vertical orientation before trying out the blue streak's adventures.
