Pokemon GO Sneasel Limited Research is coming up

Trainers excited to complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Sneasel can do so on January 30. A Shiny version of the Pokemon will also be available.

Trainers of Pokemon GO, please be advised that the new Sneasel limited-time research will soon go live. The Team GO Rocket-themed research is already underway.

Sneasel Limited Research

  • Limited Research event featuring Sneasel.
  • On Saturday, January 30, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time, you can complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Sneasel. The lucky Trainers might even encounter a Shiny Sneasel. You can also look forward to an event-exclusive Timed Research.

New Timed Research

  • From Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 7, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time, you can complete a Team GO Rocket–themed Timed Research line that’ll lead to an encounter with a Ho-Oh that knows Earthquake.

    • Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Sunday, February 7, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Features

  • The following Pokemon will be turned into the Shadow versions of themselves: Swinub, Nosepass, Aron, Spheal, Lileep, Anorith, and more.
  • Defeat Team GO Rocket Leaders during the event for a chance to receive a Team GO Rocket Leader Gift sticker.
  • Appearing more frequently: Golbat, Koffing, Ariados, Qwilfish, Sneasel, Houndour, Nuzleaf, Stunky, Skorupi, and Venipede.
  • Pokemon hatching from Strange Eggs during and after the event: Qwilfish, Larvitar, Corphish, Absol, Skorupi, Sandile, Scraggy, Pawniard, Vullaby, and Deino 
  • The following Pokemon will be appearing in raids.
    • One-star raids: Alolan Meowth, Alolan Grimer, Gligar, Sneasel, Shinx, and Klink.
    • Three-star raids: Nidoqueen, Ariados, Umbreon, Tyranitar, and Absol.
    • Five-star raids: Raikou and Suicune will both be appearing at different times. Please see the February events blog for more info on the Raid Boss schedule in February.
    • Mega Raids: Mega Venusaur, Mega Ampharos, and Mega Houndoom.
  • Event-exclusive Field Research and Timed Research will be available.
  • The Team GO Rocket–themed Timed Research that begins during the Johto Celebration event will continue during this event and will reward an encounter with the Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh that knows the exclusive attack Earthquake.

Bonuses

Half Egg Hatch Distance when an Egg is placed inside an Incubator during the event.
