Pokemon GO's next major event is the Festival of Lights. The event is scheduled to start on November 5 and go on until November 14.

Festival of Lights in Pokemon GO is scheduled to start on November 9. There will be some special surprises during the event, but we all know that it will also serve to welcome Dedenne, the Antenna Pokemon. The Electric- and Fairy-type Pokemon will be joined by her Electic-type friends who'll also start appearing more frequently in the wild.

Festival of Lights

Start date: November 5 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

End date: November 14 at 8:00 p.m. local time.

With Light Comes Shadow...: the event will start on November 9 but we currently have no information on when it will end.

Event Bonuses
  • Friendship levels will increase twice as fast.
  • Gifts will provide increased rewards.
  • You’ll be able to open up to 45 Gifts per day.
The Season of Mischief Story Continues

Hoopa's story continues as you learn more about the mischievous Pokemon. Trainers who complete this Season’s Special Research story will gain access to a special event at the end of the season. The special event will have something to do with Hoopa.


It's the Festival of Lights after all. The first few days of the festival of Diwali will be filled with fireworks, and Trainers can enjoy the show in Pokemon GO.

Pokemon Debut

Dedenne makes its Pokemon GO debut. Dedenne was first discovered in the Kalos region and will debut during the Festival of Lights.

Certain Pokemon will appear in the wild to help the Trainers light each other's way.

Stop by the in-game shop during the event to score a free Festival of Lights T-shirt inspired by the celebrations in India. Dedenne-inspired items will also be on offer. Stickers inspired by the Antenna Pokemon will end up in your inventory if you spin PokeStops, open Gifts or if you purchase them from the in-game shop.

With Light Comes Shadow...

All the ruckus was sure to draw Team GO Rocket's attention. They plan to strike on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, but more information will be available closer to the date. Remember that you can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration. Keep in mind that Team GO Rocket members will be appearing significantly more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons.
