Pokemon GO is kicking off its event so if you're taking a walk on this last day of 2021, you might want to check your phone as well.
Pokemon GO 's New Year event has started on December 31, 2021, at 10:00 PM local time and it will last until June 4, 2022, 8:00 PM, giving trainers about five days to enjoy it as they see fit. Considering many will be stuck with preparations and celebration of the New Year, as well as hungover the day after, the actual time they will have to enjoy with POGO will be cut almost in half.
During the event, players will get double hatch Stardust and hatch Candy. Furthermore, hatch distance will be halved so you might be able to fit a few adventures in before going for the RL New Year celebration.
Additionally, there is the Timed Research event that will allow you to see a bunch of costumed Pokemon, should you complete it in time. The costumed Pokemon include:
- Party Hat Bulbasaur
- Party Hat Charmander
- Party Hat Squirtle
- Party Hat Raticate
- Party Hat Nidorino
- New Year Hat Pichu
- New Year Hat Pikachu
- New Year Hat Raichu
- 2020 Glasses Slowpoke
- 2021 Glasses Slowbro
- 2022 Glasses Slowking
- Party Hat Gengar
- New Year’s Hat Hoothoot
- Party Hat Wurmple
- Party Hat Wobbuffet
One of the main things to look out for is the continuation of the Season of Heritage story while those who just want to celebrate will be able to enjoy the fireworks that will be on display from 11:00 PM on December 31, 2021, to 12:00 AM (midnight) of January 2, 2022.
