Niantic have revealed that Torchic will be the featured creature in the next Pokemon GO Community Day, which will happen on 19 May 2019. Bonuses have been revealed too, except for the special move that will be available after evolution.

Torchic may be an adorable third generation chicken but it has a fiery heart. Maybe even literally, but the reference here is to the Pokemon being a Fire-type one. It evolves into Combusken and then to Blaziken later on.

Pokemon GO players will need to catch a Torchic and evolve it all the way to Blaziken during May 2019 Community Day in order to learn the exclusive move, which is still hidden on the official page. Committing to the evolution without knowing the move kind of feels like pre-ordering a game based on a pre-rendered reveal trailer.

Thankfully, Torchic's spawn rate will be increased during the Community Day hours in order to minimise the inconvenience of having to full evolve it within four specific hours of an entire month. While the event lasts for three hours, players have an additional window of one hour to evolve a Combusken to Blaziken after Community Day concludes in order to get that move.

Anyway, the rest of the bonuses are well known - triple Catch Stardust and lures will last for three hours which is not unusual during Community Days.

The event itself will start on 19 May 2019 at 15:00 and last until 18:00 the same day, Local Time. That last bit is particularly important since it wasn't so long ago that Niantic changed the way Community Days work in regards to time zones. Therefore, it will start when your clock shows 15:00, regardless of what time it might be on the opposite side of the world.

Blaziken may not be a top-tier fighter as Machamp is a preferable option but the exclusive move may give it a bit of an edge, once it gets revealed. Also, make sure to keep an eye out for those Shiny Torchics who are a bit lighter than their regular counterparts. You will recognize them by their yellow colour, as opposed to bright orange.
