Encouraged by the response of photography-savvy trainers to the AR+ feature, Niantic announced they're taking it to the next level with a dedicated photo mode called GO Snapshot that lets you take snaps of Pokemon you've got in storage.

As Niantic wrote in the announcement, GO Snapshot is "an easy way to take a photo of any Pokemon you have in your Pokemon Storage" whenever and wherever you see fit.

Using GO Snapshot should be simple enough and you'll be able to select your Pokemodel either by looking at it, or alternatively by accessing the camera from your bag of items.

Once you're in, tapping the screen will throw its Poke ball to the desired location, after which you can fine tune the shot. "Is your Pokemon distracted or looking the wrong way? Brush across it to get its attention, and it will be sure to face you", the company wrote.

Pokemon GO trainers can, of course, take as many photos as they'd like and they're automatically saved to your device.

Niantic will also be implementing social features, most notably sharing your photos via social media. The details are scarce at the moment but we're guessing it's safe to confirm at least Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, at least when it comes to Western markets.

Unfortunately, the company didn't provide the exact date on when we'll be seeing Pokemon GO's dedicated photo mode, but they did say they'll be rolling it out soon. How soon is anyone's guess at the moment but for what it's worth, they don't usually take long.

Judging by the initial response, Pokemon GO trainers are not only excited over GO Snapshot, they're pretty much over the moon. Granted, many of them have been asking Niantic for such a feature for years, but better late than never.

So, if you happen to see your social feed suddenly bursting with Pokemon in what seem like their natural habitats, now you know what Niantic did to you. Perhaps you should retaliate with a special move.
