Invites for another EX Raid Battle have been sent out. The next Battle is scheduled to happen on Monday, 26 February 2018. Niantic's recent changes to the invite criteria are in effect, which means more Trainers should receive an EX Raid pass.
NIantic have sent out a fresh batch of EX Raid Battle invites. These will get you into the EX Raid that's set to go down on Monday, 26 February 2018. Be advised that the old EX Raid schedule has been abandoned in favour of a different one, so it's best you stop using it. Also, the next EX Raid Battle will take place at gyms that fit the "old" Level 12 S2 cell criteria.
While the upcoming wave of EX Raids is similar to the ones we've had in the past, some minor tweaks have been observed. For one, Niantic seem to treat recent raid activity somewhat differently, and there looks to be a stricter selection criteria based on it.
Earlier this month, Niantic introduced a couple of changes to the selection criteria, but a bug got bundled up with the update and caused the wrong invites to be sent out. The bug has since been squashed and Niantic shared the new selection criteria in a blog post.
From now on, Trainers with a higher level Gym Badge will be more likely to receive an invite to an EX Raid Battle. Everyone who completes "more" Raid Battles at any location in the week before the invites get sent out will have a higher chance of scoring one.
While EX Raid Battles will continue to take place in parks and at sponsored locations, the number of Gyms that meet the necessary criteria for an EX Raid Battle will increase. Niantic underlined that with the changed criteria, more Trainers will start receiving their invites. These steps should ensure a higher level of quality in the future RX Raid Battles.
In other Pokemon GO news, another Community Day event is set to go down on 24 February 2018.
