Pokemon GO's next Community Day, which is scheduled for tomorrow by the way, is all about Totodile but Niantic have more in store for trainers as they'll soon be introducing limited research events, with the first one on 19 January 2019.

Totodile is a water-type Pokemon that arrived in Generation II. It evolves into Croconaw at level 18 and later into Feraligatr, which requires getting it up to level 30. Speaking of Feraligatr, the special move of the week is the hydro cannon, but only for Feraligatr of course.

As usual, Niantic threw in a few perks for Pokemon GO's Community Day, so trainers can look forward to 3-hour lures and 1/4 hatch distance bonuses.

According to Niantic's schedule, the Community Day lasts from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm CET, but you should probably check the link below for exact local times. That being said, you may want to watch your step if you live in particularly icy areas, as we're sure Pokemon won't warn you of slippery surfaces.

Niantic also announced limited research events, which are basically field research that focuses on specific Pokemon kind, starting with Pokemon Feebas on the image below. We're talking about a water-type Pokemon whose evolution is to serpent Milotic. Niantic are obviously going for a very aquatic January here, as both Feebas and Totodile are water-type Pokemon.

Limited research events will have players spinning photo discs at PokeStops to get field research tasks, while completing them earns them an encounter with Feebas. With a little bit of luck on your side, you'll be getting a shiny one. You can check out the schedule below:

  •     Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: 19 January 2019, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm UTC (GMT +0)
  •     The Americas and Greenland: 19 January 2019, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm PST (GMT −8)
  •     Asia-Pacific: 20 January 2019, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm JST (GMT +9)

You can find Niantic's Community Day announcement and learn more about the limited research .
