Obsidian released the last DLC for their isometric RPG Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire. The Forgotten Sanctum DLC is an expansive dungeon with a new storyline and the update also brings a fresh batch of fixes and many other improvements.
The Forgotten Sancutum will send players on a quest to find the archmage Maura who vanished in the depths of a newly opened dungeon located in the Black Isles. Maura is threatening to release whatever lies in those depths. Players will get to explore the dungeon which is built in the flesh of sleeping gods and take on some high-level challenges along the way.
Alongside Forgotten Sanctum a 4.0 patch is set to arrive, bringing eleven new subclasses. The most interesting to us are Furyshapers which are a Barbarian subclass that can manifest their emotions in a physical form, inflicting their rage, terror, or madness on the enemy.
Another cool one is Arcane Archer, a Ranger subclass which can apply their innate aptitude with magic by temporarily infusing spells into their projectiles. Those who like darker stuff can choose a Blood Mage subclass of Wizard and gain Blood sacrifice abilities and Passive health regeneration.
Others subclasses include Ancient (Druid), Priest of Woedica (Priest), Bellower (Chanter), Forbidden Fist (Monk), Steel Garrote (Paladin), Debonaire (Rogue) and Tactician which is a Fighter subclass.
The update also adds some mega-bosses and respawning to defeated ships to make the sailing more interesting for you and your crew. Obisidian also tuned Veteran Difficulty to be more intense and included a lot of other improvements and fixes like corrected typos in quests, sound and visual effects..
The full patch notes can be found on Obsidian's forum where you can also take a closer look at new subclasses, their bonuses and penalties.
The Forgotten Sanctum is the last DLC for Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire and it comes after Beast of Winter, and Seeker, Slayer, Survivor. It's available trough Season Pass or as a single purchase for £7.50 on Steam and GOG.
