It looks like Atlus could soon port their Persona games to Xbox Game Pass. Xbox insiders are hinting that this popular RPG could be the next SEGA franchise to join the subscription service.
Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has stated several times that Xbox are interested in the Japanese video games market and partnership with Japanese game developers and publishers. Rumours circulated online, suggesting that Microsoft could acquire SEGA, shortly after the acquisition of Zenimax/Bethesda but at the time of writing, we are yet to get a solid source that would confirm these claims.
And while we wait to hear more about this potential acquisition, Microsoft have been rebuilding their relationship with Japanese publisher by adding their games to Xbox Game Pass. You may know that many Yazuka games have already been added to Game Pass and judging by the latest tease from Xbox insider Shpeshal Ed, Atlus' popular RPG Persona could also arrive to the subscription service.
On February 3, Ed tweeted that Yakuza may not be the only SEGA franchise that Microsoft are trying to get into Game Pass. Today, Ed quoted the tweet with the artwork of Joker from Persona 5 and the Xbox logo, teasing potential announcement or news regarding Persona 5 port on Xbox.
As always with rumours, leaks and unconfirmed info, take this with a grain of salt until we get an official confirmation from Microsoft or SEGA. On the other hand, Shpeshal Ed has been a reliable source for Xbox related news so it wouldn't be surprising if we see Persona games on Game Pass after all.
