Obsidian Entertainment's long-awaited sequel, The Outer Worlds 2, will release worldwide on October 29. The game will send players back into the acerbic sci-fi world originally seen in 2019.

When Can You Preload The Outer Worlds 2?
Preload for The Outer Worlds 2 is already live on Xbox Series X|S and PC, through the Xbox app. Game Pass Ultimate members can start preloading the game now and will be ready to go when the game releases.
Non-Game Pass players will have to buy the game first to unlock the preload. Preload has not yet been announced for PlayStation 5, or on other PC platforms like Steam at the time of writing. We will update this article as more information becomes available as the release date approaches.

The Outer Worlds 2 comes with a sizable download:
- Xbox Series X|S: 79.49 GB
- Xbox on PC: 77.30 GB
- PlayStation 5: To be confirmed (expected to be around 78–80 GB)
The most notable aspect of this, of course, is how it makes The Outer Worlds 2 one of Obsidian’s biggest games yet, which may seem odd to some given its single-player only design.
The game is said to offer anywhere between 30 and 40 hours of gameplay across its massive planets, branching dialogue trees, and robust opportunities for exploration.
How to Preload The Outer Worlds 2
Xbox users can preload the game by launching the Microsoft Store or Xbox app on either console or PC. Just look for The Outer Worlds 2. When you see the game in search results, click “Pre-install” or “Preload” to start the download.
PlayStation 5 players will most likely have a very similar process to Xbox players - and you can also expect to see the preload option available 48-72 hours before release, assuming you’ve pre-ordered the game.
