Overwatch's feared patch that would make everyone reinstall has arrived, bringing many welcome balance changes as well as the newest hero - Ashe. Then again, the download size isn't too vast and it feels good to have fresh content again.

Blizzard have warned their Overwatch players that the next patch would require a reinstall of the game and they have delivered on that promise. While a complete reinstall is sub-optimal, the company did give notice well in advance with tips on how to reduce patch size and even launched a pre-patch in order to minimise the download on patch day.

In the end, players could find themselves downloading just 4 GB, which is far better than what Bethesda had in store for Fallout 76 players.

The patch bringing Ashe hit servers on 13 November 2018 and brought some issues with it, as some players reported an inability to join games. Blizzard quickly issued a workaround, but it didn't work for everyone. The connectivity issues are expected to be fixed soon though.

Meanwhile, Ashe seems a bit overpowered in her debut, as higher ranked players often see what she can do. We have embedded a video of streamers' plays with the new hero. As expected, her dynamite ability proved invaluable when holding choke points, and coupled with the utility part of her coach gun, Ashe proved to be nimble, controlling and overall powerful.

She is even considered to be the first , which may come as a relief to many players who have been losing sleep over this Shoryuken enthusiast. BOB is as useful as ever, and players are already abusing him to contest points while they walk around, clearing the opposition.

The balancing part of the update saw buffs to Mercy and Reaper, while Roadhog got hit with much needed nerfs. Symmetra is still proving to be a thorn in the balance team's side, as they tentatively buffed her again. You can read the full patch notes .
