Pride Month is back in Overwatch 2! It's a time when people worldwide come together to celebrate and shine a light on both the struggles and triumphs of the LGBTQ+ community.
The Overwatch community's unwavering passion serves as a constant source of inspiration and support. Recently, players warmly welcomed the game's latest LGBTQ+ heroes, Lifeweaver and Venture, showing immense love and acceptance.
Overwatch 2 would not be the game it is without heroes, and that includes the players who have the courage to stand up and show the world who they are. Which is why Blizzard is celebrating Pride with players in the Overwatch 2 community.
How is Overwatch 2 celebrating Pride in 2024?
Here are the highlights:
Celebrate with popular LGBTQ+ Content Creators
Throughout the month of June, the developers are featuring some of the developer's popular content creators from the LGBTQ+ community. From June 3 to June 14, players can catch many LGBTQ+ creators featured on Battle.net and in-game on the Overwatch 2 News Feed via Twitch. Whether you enjoy laid-back vibes, competitive gameplay, or entertaining antics, there's something for everyone in these creators' streams.
Map changes to Midtown
For the entirety of the month, the Pride Festival variant is making its return to the Midtown Hybrid map. This vibrant version of the map is adorned with colorful confetti raining down from the sky and flags proudly displayed on nearby buildings. Navigating the payload through the city streets feels like a lively journey, following in the footsteps of a local Pride parade.
Maps like this one serve as a joyful celebration, reminding us of the essence of Pride: embracing and honoring our true selves, which are inherently authentic and beautiful, regardless of external opinions. Look forward to experiencing this festive atmosphere as you queue up for Unranked and Competitive games or dive straight into the action through a dedicated play card on the Arcade.
Supporting the Trevor Project
Make sure to swing by the Blizzard Gear store and check out the latest additions to the 2024 Blizzard Pride Collection. Curated by the Blizzard LGBT+ Employee Network, this collection showcases Pride-themed apparel. Not only can you rock some stylish threads, but your purchase also supports a great cause.
From May 15 to June 30, 2024, a portion of the proceeds from the Blizzard Pride Collection will go to The Trevor Project. So, grab some new gear and show your support for the LGBTQ+ community!
