Nintendo have announced that their Nintendo Direct presentation is coming tomorrow, 15 May 2019, and the company wrote that it will be a 15-minute presentation with a special focus on Super Mario Maker 2, which launches on 28 June.
"Join us for a roughly 15-minute global presentation packed with information all about Super Mario Maker 2 for Nintendo Switch", they wrote, and the exact time is Wednesday, 15 May 2019 at 11pm (UK time).
Super Mario Maker 2 is one of the highly anticipated summer titles for the Switch, and the company already gave a sneak peek at this Mario level builder when they announced the launch.
What we do know is that Super Mario Maker 2 will come with new abilities, such as the one to make slopes, but, as usual, Nintendo will include enough goodies to last you a while.
They also promised new tools, items and features, as well as an intuitive interface that makes for patchworking your monster creations in Super Mario Maker 2 a breeze.
Nintendo will be hoping to build on the success of the original Super Mario Maker, which launched for Wii U consoles back in September 2015.
Its first week in Japan saw Nintendo flog 138,000 physical copies, which rose to 245,000 copies in the first three weeks. According to inf from March 2018, Super Mario Maker sold 4 million copies, with the 3DS version, which launched a bit later, selling 2.34 million by March 2017.
Considering the game's been quite a hit with players and critics alike, and Nintendo said back in 2016 that upwards of 7.2 million courses have been played more than 600 million times.
Either way, we'll know more tomorrow, when Nintendo's "packed" presentation airs, and even though Super Mario Maker 2 is already available for pre-order, we make it a rule to advise against preordering, especially when it comes to full-priced, $60 titles.
