According to Niantic, the next batch of Pokemon Go's field research tasks and rewards is on the way. The new daily tasks which players can obtain at PokeStops are going to feature first generation Pokemon exclusive to the Kanto Region.

Niantic first introduced daily tasks to the game back in March, and since then players were able to obtain one of the first genration legendary birds. According to the fan website Snorlax, Pikachu, Eevee, and Ditto might appear in the new update due to the focus being on the Kanto Region.

There were no indications what the Research Breakthroughs are going to reward players with after completing the seven tasks. Fan speculation points to the possibility of more legendaries.

In addition to players being able to add one of the first gen Pokemon to their Pokedex, fans that get  and  will be able to transfer one of the captured first generation Pokemon to the upcoming title.

The way to obtain the daily tasks is travelling to a nearby PokeStop. However, the tasks given to players can be deleted, while new ones are given out at a different PokeStop. After completion of a task players will receive one out of seven stamps which are needed for the Research Breakthrough.

Recently Pokemon Go received an update which enabled two key features, and a trading system which tie together enabling players to receive rewards for playing together. These new features are likely to play a prominent role in the upcoming update.
