It looks like Nintendo will finally host another Nintendo Direct very soon and according to a reliable Jeff Grubb, this could happen by the middle of September, when he expects to see a Nintendo Direct equivalent.
It's been a long wait for the next Nintendo Direct but with each passing week, rumours and leaks are getting more frequent, suggesting that the Japanese tech giant could finally reveal details about their next big games showcase.
Some reliable sources suggest that Nintendo could host Direct this week but according to VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb, who is one of the most trusted sources in the industry, the upcoming Nintendo event may not be a Direct. Instead, this event is something else, potentially on a smaller scale so players should tone down the expectations. However, Jeff made it clear he is not 100 per cent sure and the event could be any number of things.
"It's weird that August 28 is a Friday, so I'm not confident at all that's a general Direct," Grubb tweeted. It could be any number of things. But do expect a Direct equivalent by the middle of September."
And while this week could be reserved for a smaller scale event, September is the month when Nintendo Direct could happen, as you can see in Grubb's tweet.
"If I had to bet, this thing next week is probably something else. So please tone down the expectations. And then if it is a general, we can all be pleasantly surprised. But to repeat myself for the sake of clarity: I expect a bigger event soon after," Grubb reiterated his words.
All in all, even if this week's event turns out to be something smaller, it is safe to say that Nintendo players can activate the full hype mode since the next major Nintendo showcase is just around the corner.
