According to the ACM, these practices used by Epic Games pressurise children to buy different in-game skins and items by putting them in a state of FOMO or fear of missing out and pushing them towards impulse purchasing. Following their lawsuit, Epic Games was slammed with a fine of €1,125,000 or $1 million, in the Netherlands.
