NetherRealm Studios are kicking Mortal Kombat into high gear as they have revealed one of Scorpion's looks, seen on the image above, and announced a story, character, feature and gameplay reveal that will happen on 17 January 2018.

Scorpion is the fan-favourite poster ninja of Mortal Kombat series, that is not so demonic anymore. There will be several of his versions in Mortal Kombat 11, due to implied timeline manipulation by the new antagonist, although they will most likely differ only in the looks department, while retaining same move sets, regardless of whether a Scorpion is in his undead demonic or a simple human form. One of them can be previewed in this tweet .

The tweet itself is promoting the upcoming reveal of gameplay, new features, story and characters from Mortal Kombat 11 that will happen on Thursday, 17 January 2018. NetherRealm Studios should tackle several points that the fans have been itching over, in one fell swoop.

For example, there was the supposedly leaked character list circulating the internet a while ago, that was later disproved by Ed Boon when he made fun out of the alleged leak. Still, the list tickled many fans' fantasies and it didn't escape them that Sindel wasn't on the list. With the official character reveal coming soon, we should get a definitive answer whether the extreme hairstyle enthusiast will make an appearance.

Naturally, everyone is looking forward to gameplay footage, as we still don't have and Mortal Kombat 11 is due in just about four months. Raiden, Scorpion and a brand new character that is probably an antagonist are confirmed already from the Game Awards trailer, but it only contained a cinematic scene and, uh, some rap that either didn't fit in at all or is an acquired taste.

When it comes to the new features that are about to be announced, chances are NetherRealm are referring to an abundance of cosmetics, since messed up timelines present a great opportunity to see many versions of each character, with each of them looking differently.
