Marathon Patch 1.0.6.2 is here, and it’s loaded with balance changes, economy additions, and plenty of miscellaneous gameplay fixes. This patch mainly attempts to increase fairness in many aspects of the game, like the Cryo Archive, along with weapon balancing and overall polish to the player experience.
Among the largest additions is a change to the overall item economy. Players will now be able to reserve one free Cryo Archive Sponsored Kit each week. This should help players feel less punished as the game tries to balance keeping players engaged while at the same time trying to make progression feel fair.
Weapons are getting buffs and nerfs as well. The WSTR Combat Shotgun is getting a nice buff to its base damage, going from 78 damage to 85. Along with this buff, the crit multiplier has been decreased, further pushing its kit towards consistent damage.
To add on, its damage against AI enemies has been increased by a large margin.The MIPS Slug Converter Prestige mod has been adjusted as well. Its critical multiplier has been drastically increased.
However, this increase came at the cost of decreased projectile velocity and aim assist. Overall, this change should net a more skillful weapon.
Cryo Archive changes
In other news, Cryo Archive has been patched up where players were able to glitch through vents into areas that they normally wouldn’t have access to without Security Clearance.
Newly added vent covers should help smooth over this issue.There are plenty of UI fixes, contract buffs, and various bug fixes that dealt with players being stuck from joining matches.
