Mafia: The Old County is set to launch on August 8, 2025, for $49.99, 2K Games and Hangar 13 announced today. Yes, you've read that price right, Mafia: The Old County won't be a $70 title, which is quite interesting and perhaps gives us an idea of the scope and length of this game, which is something that 2K actually mention when speaking about the decision to charge less for this exciting release.
"We think there's a large audience for compelling stories that don't require massive time commitments[...]We're excited to offer a game like Mafia: The Old Country in our portfolio, and to provide a linear highly-polished narrative experience that can easily complement the other more persistent games our players also love and engage with on a more consistent basis," 2K said.
The new trailer which gives us glimpses of gameplay looks stunning and certainly up to modern AAA standard so no complaints there really even if Mafia: The Old Country is a ten hour game, which i really hope it is. I've had it with 30-40 hour bloated video games.
There's a fair share of action and adrenaline-pumping sequences like that car chase, but also plenty of stealth and quiet takedowns in the dark alleys of lovely Italian towns.
2K Games also announced that the game is available for pre-order right now, and there are some bonuses you can grab if you decide to trust the publisher with your money before the reviews drop.
You can read more about that here.
